Fiat dominates vehicle sales in local market
Fiat sold a total of 62,154 vehicles in the first six months of 2022, dominating the local market in terms of sales.
The carmaker sold more than 41,000 passenger cars and around 21,000 light commercial vehicles in January-June, according to data from the Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD).

Nissan on Feb. 8 hiked its annual net profit forecast again on strong interim results, aiming to weather the global chip shortage as it shifts focus to electric vehicles.
The Japanese car giant now expects yearly net profit to March 2022 of 205 billion yen ($1.8 billion), having already tripled its annual profit outlook in November to 180 billion yen.

Competition board to rule on car companies
Turkey's competition watchdog will soon announce its decision in a probe into automotive companies, Birol Küle, the head of the Competition Authority, said on Jan. 19.
"We may announce the result of the investigation on automotive companies next week," he told private broadcaster CNN Türk.

Turkish auto industry makes nearly 110,000 vehicles in October
Automakers in Turkey produced 108,078 vehicles in October, including automobiles and commercial vehicles, according to a sectoral report released on Nov. 15.
The figure decreased by 28 percent year-on-year last month, a report from the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) showed.
Car maker Revoz shrinking production
Novo Mesto – Revoz is switching from two shifts to one and a half on Monday, 15 November, as car manufacturer Renault’s Slovenian subsidiary scales down production over uncertainties in the car industry resulting from the global crisis in semiconductors. In the coming months, around 350 of the company’s more than 2,400 workers will lose their jobs.

Petrol ranks 9th by total revenue in SE Europe
Ljubljana – Slovenian energy company Petrol ranked ninth by total revenue for 2020 in the SEE TOP 100 ranking of the largest companies in SE Europe, published by business news portal SeeNews. Romanian company Automobile Dacia, a unit of French Renault, was ranked first with EUR 3.8 billion in revenue.

Chip shortage troubles continue for Slovenian vehicle makers
Novo Mesto – Revoz, a car manufacture and assembly plant based in Novo Mesto, is suffering from a shortage of electronic parts for its car models. They assessed that two-fifths of this year’s planned production has been lost so far. Adria Mobil, a Novo Mesto-based company that produces caravans and motorhomes, is facing similar problems.
