Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 13 spoke to his Kyrgyz and Afghan counterparts over the phone amid recent Israeli attacks in Palestine, the presidency said.

In talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Erdoğan "exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings and discussed bilateral relations as well as regional developments."

The first virtual Women's Entrepreneurship Expo by U.N. Women attracted more than 500 participants, including 200 women entrepreneurs from Europe and Central Asia between April 27 and April 29.

Turkey's foreign minister expressed the country's support for a cease-fire deal between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on May 1 in separate phone calls to his counterparts in the two Central Asian nations.

TV channels in the country are competing with each other to broadcast the Turkish drama series, which have become hits among Kyrgyz families.

Turkey has appointed 13 ambassadors to foreign posts, according to the Official Gazette early on April 3. 

A decree published with the signature of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Cahit Bağcı was appointed envoy to Azerbaijan.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met government officials in Tajikistan's capital on March 29.

"Discussed w/ Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Speaker of House of Representatives of #Tajikistan, increasing inter-parliamentary contacts after the pandemic," he wrote on Twitter. "Parliamentary diplomacy will further strengthen our brotherly relations."

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Turkish businesspeople in Tajikistan's capital on March 28.

Çavuşoğlu, who is in Dushanbe on a three-day official visit, said at the meeting that the vibrant Turkish business community strengthens Ankara's relations with Tajikistan.

The Turkish president on March 17 received the Kazakh foreign minister in the capital Ankara.

The meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kazakhstan's Mukhtar Tleuberdi was held behind closed doors at the presidential complex.

Earlier in the day, Tleuberdi, who is also a deputy prime minister, met with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov met on March 10 in Qatar's capital Doha.

"Discussed w/FM Sergey #Lavrov of #RF [Russian Federation] our relations and recent developments in #NagornoKarabakh, #Libya & #Syria," Çavuşoğlu said on Twitter following the meeting.
