Lajovic through to second round in Bucharest

BUCHAREST - Serbia's tennis player Dusan Lajovic has reached the second round of the ATP tournament in Bucharest, after defeating Jurgen Zopp of Estonia 7-5, 6-1 on Tuesday.

Lajovic outplayed the world's No. 157 for about an hour. In his bid for the quarterfinals, he will take on fourth seed Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic, who skipped the first round.

Djokovic ups score difference, Troicki ranks 36th

LONDON - World's best tennis player Novak Djokovic defended the Miami Open title and increased the score difference against second-ranked Swiss player Roger Federer on the latest ATP list.

Djokovic currently has 13,205 points, 4,310 more than Federer who skipped the Florida tournament where he reached the quarterfinal last year.

Djokovic pulls further ahead in ATP rankings

LONDON - World number one Novak Djokovic moved further ahead of Switzerland's Roger Federer, in 2nd place, in the latest ATP rankings, posted on Monday.

Despite the defeat in the final in Dubai, Djokovic increased his lead, since Federer merely defended his title, while Djokovic stayed in the tournament longer than lasy year, when he was ousted in the semifinals.

Djokovic cements top spot, Troicki climbs to No. 46

LONDON - World number one Novak Djokovic has cemented the top spot in the ATP ladder, doubling the gap between him and second-placed Roger Federer following his fifth Australian Open title on Sunday.

Djokovic now has 13,045 points, 3,800 more than Federer, who lost points after not reaching the semifinals, dumped out by Italy's Andreas Seppi in the third round.
