The head of Bulgaria's biggest opposition party has distanced itself from the decision of its MEPs who voted in favour of a resolution on human rights and and state expenditure on migrants from third countries.

BSP leader Korneliya Ninova has accused GERB of putting pre-election pressure on the opposition.

A draft resolution that would determine Bulgaria's stance on the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) has made it to Parliament's floor.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova has said she will not seek support from any other political organization for the upcoming presidential vote.

The BSP's candidate, Maj Gen Rumen Radev, is not supported by other left-wing parties, who pulled out of talks with socialists in the summer, nominating their own candidates.

The Vice-President of the Bulgarian parliament, Dimitar Glavchev, cancelled the parliamentary session on Friday, after a row erupted between members of the ruling party, Boyko Borissov's GERB, and the main opposition group, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP.

"We have officially invited ABV and DPS for talks on the vote of non-confidence in the government on Monday," said BSP leader Korneliya Ninova on Darik radio.

The concrete reason for the non-confidence vote on the foreign policy of the government is the withdrawal of the support of the Cabinet for the nomination of Irina Bokova, but also the foreign policy of the country as a whole.

The parliamentary group of BSP Lyava Balgariya has decided to start discussions with other political parties for submitting a vote of non-confidence against the Borisov 2 Cabinet after, earlier on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers nominated European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva for UN Secretary General.

BSP demanded that PM Borisov come to Parliament and present the reasons for the decision of the government to nominate European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva for UN Secretary General.

BSP leader Korneliya Ninova has stated that the government is preparing an ethnic change in Bulgaria via the permanent placement of refugees in Bulgarian municipalities.

The government is humiliating Bulgaria and mining the possibility of a Bulgarian heading the UN, stated BSP' leader Korneliya Ninova regarding the information that Bulgaria is going to change the nomination of Irina Bokova with that of Kristalina Georgieva.
