Türkiye is seeking to increase its exports to the world's largest economies with a specially tailored "distant countries strategy," Trade Minister Mehmet Muş has said.

Cengizhan Şimşek triumphs in Kırkpınar oil wrestling
Cengizhan Şimşek won the title of "başpehlivan" (chief wrestler) and the coveted golden belt at the ancient 661st oil wrestling festival held in Türkiye's northwestern province of Edirne on July 3.
The epic battle between two strong wrestlers, Şimşek and Mustafa Taş, was not concluded in normal time, with both of them preferring a passive style.
Concerts to be staged before football matches
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) will be organizing music concerts before matches to promote interest in the sports and fill the stadiums once emptied due to coronavirus and unsatisfactory football matches.
The target is to attract mainly women and children, local media outlets said.

İsmailağa jamia leader Ustaosmanoğlu dead at 93
Mahmut Ustaosmanoğlu, a Turkish Sufi sheikh and the leader of the influential İsmailağa Jamia of the Naqshbandi-Khalidiyya Tariqah, died on June 23 at the age of 93.
According to a statement by the tariqah, his funeral service will be held on June 24, in Istanbul's Fatih district where the movement is centered.

MİT neutralizes PKK local leader in N Iraq
Turkish Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized a PKK ringleader, Syrian citizen Hüseyin Şibli, codenamed "Ferhat Derik," in a surgical strike in northern Iraq's province of Sulaymaniyah.
According to local reports, Şibli, who was a high-rank PKK leader in Syria, was "assigned" recently to coordinate the terrorist organization's activities in Iraq.

Revenues from health tourism may rise to $5 bln: Minister
With the support the government provided to the sector, revenues from health tourism may increase to $5 billion in the short-term and rise further to $10 million in the medium-term, Trade Minister Mehmet Muş has said.
MİT neutralizes third PKK leader in one month
Turkish Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized a PKK ringleader, Iranian citizen Rahime Xezali, in Syria in a third surgical strike against PKK local leaders in a month, local media has reported.
According to press reports published on June 5, Xezali was killed with two other terrorists in northern Syria's Qamishli province on May 31.

Exports increase 15 percent in May to $19 billion
Turkey's exports increased by 15.2 percent on an annual basis to stand at $18.97 billion in May, preliminary data from the Trade Ministry showed on June 2.
The increase in the country's imports, which amounted to $29.65 billion last month, was faster at 43.8 percent.

MİT neutralizes PKK ringleader in northern Iraq
Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized an alleged high-ranking PKK terrorist in the northern Iraq city of Sulaymaniyah, Demirören News Agency has reported.
"Mehmet Doğan, codenamed 'Dılhaz Gabar,' was neutralized in an operation conducted by MİT in the Cemcemal neighborhood of Sulaymaniyah," the agency reported on June 2.
