Athens to close notorious refugee camp
Athens has decided to proceed with the gradual closure of the Lavrio refugee camp, which has long been accused by Ankara of being a hideout for terrorists under the guise of being asylum-seekers, due to "the unsuitability of the site to continue hosting refugees."

Refugee camp targeted by Turkey to close
The decision by the Migration and Asylum Ministry to proceed with the gradual closure of the Lavrio refugee camp due to objective criteria, namely the unsuitability of the site to continue hosting refugees, will also satisfy Turkey, which has constantly demanded its shutdown as it considers it a "training camp" for Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants.

Vilia – The fire is out of control
The situation because of the big fire in the area of Vilia is dramatic. At night five more settlements were evacuated (Thea, Panorama, Paleochori, Paleokoundoura and Agia Sotira) and the nursing home "Panagia Faneromeni", as the flames that spread on a large front approached residential areas burning dense and inaccessible virgin pine forest on Mount Patera.

Thermal cameras installed in kindergartens at southeast Attica municipality
Thermal cameras that can detect students' fever have been installed in kindergartens and primary schools at the Lavreotiki municipality, the local authority said on Friday.
These cameras were procured in the context of establishing an effective system of prevention measures against the coronavirus, the municipality added.
