2,000-year-old altar found near northwestern Çanakkale
A 2,000-year-old altar has been unearthed in northwestern Turkey near the town of Ezine in Çanakkale province, archeologists said on Oct. 9.
A hall with a podium, temple, odium, and bathhouse were among the remains that have survived to the present day in the ancient city of Alexandria Troas, an area near the Aegean Sea.

Troy Museum receives European Museum Academy award
Troy Museum in the northwestern province of Çanakkale has been deemed worthy of the European Museum Academy Special Award.
The Culture and Tourism Ministry said in a statement on Sept. 19 that the museum also received the 2020 European Museum of the Year Special Appreciation Award.

Only 20 decks of Çanakkale Bridge left to be united
Officials have placed the 67th deck of all 87 decks of the Çanakkale Bridge, aiming to finish joining the bridge road that will connect the European and the Asian sides of the strait by the end of September.
The bridge, nicknamed "neckband of Çanakkale Strait," will be opened to public service on the 107th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory on March 18, 2022.

Exhibition featuring 150th anniversary of Troy Excavations opens to visitors
An exhibition titled "Troy Excavations in the light of Ottoman Documents in the 150th Year" has been opened at the Troy Museum, where artifacts unearthed from the 5,600-year-old Troy Ruins in the northwestern province of Çanakkale are exhibited.
