UK charter lands in Athens after mechanical problem
A Thomson Airways charter flight from Manchester in the UK bound for the Greek island of Skiathos was forced to land at Athens International Airport on Tuesday following a mechanical problem with the aircraft's flaps.
No harm came to the 226 crew and passengers aboard the flight, who disembarked before being transferred to another plane to continue their journey.
Lufthansa to expand no. of domestic flights in Greece
German passenger Airline ‘Lufthansa’ announced it would expand its daily Greek domestic flights to and from Athens and Thessaloniki this summer to include new routes to Kerkyra, Zakynthos, Mykonos, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes and Santorini.

Ryanair to include flights from Athens to Dublin and Berlin in 2016
Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will include two new routes in its schedule from Athens to Dublin and Berlin next year.
According to Ryanair’s sales and marketing manager for Greece, John Alborante, the route to Dublin will start in March 2016 with three flights per week, whereas the route to Berlin will be covered with one daily flight.

Greece is on its first strike since the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) came into power in January. During Thursday’s 24-hour strike there will be disruptions to public services, museums and archeological sites, schools and pharmacies, while public transport will be disrupted, ferries will remain tied up at ports and hospitals will function with emergency staff.
