Counterfeit Banknotes Worth EUR 28 Million were Seized in Italy
Italian police said they had seized over 900,000 counterfeit banknoets of good quality worth 28 million euros. 13 people were arrested, France press reports.

Compared to the end of June 2016, a rise of 12.3% has been marked.

New 50-euro note goes into circulation in Europe
The European Central Bank on Tuesday released a new 50-euro note as part of a rollout of new banknotes that boast better security features.
The new 50 that went into circulation on Tuesday features similar "feel, look, tilt" security measures that are part of the already issued 5, 10, and 20 euro banknotes.

Kosovo: Police Seize Huge Haul Of Counterfeit Euros
Kosovar police say they have arrested two men after discovering counterfeit currency valued at more than 2 million euros in the trunk of a car crossing into the Balkan nation from Albania.
The counterfeit bills with a face value of 2.1 million euros ($2.2 million) were found early on March 10 in a bag in the trunk of the car driven by an Albanian citizen, a police statement said.

ECB to Stop Producing EUR 500 Note
The European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to stop production and issuance of the EUR 500 banknote.
The ECB has also decided to exclude the largest note denomination from the Europa series, "taking into account concerns that this banknote could facilitate illicit activities", the Bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
