Rainfall in Belgrade, Valjevo and Loznica hits record
BELGRADE - The daily rainfall measured on Thursday is the new record in the history of rainfall monitoring, with 107.9 litres per square metre in Belgrade, 110 litres per square metre in Loznica and 108.2 litres per square metre in Valjevo, shows the report of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia.
Heavy Rains in Serbia Claim 3rd Victim
The heavy rains in Serbia have claimed three lives, leaving large parts of the country flooded.
Serbia's Emergency Situations HQ adopted Thursday a statement urging the Serbian government to declare state of emergency on the entire territory of Serbia due to the heavy rainfall and floods over the past few days, according to InSerbia News.

European Film Festival to open in Belgrade on Friday
BELGRADE - The 3rd European Film Festival will take place at Dom Omladine in Belgrade May 16-21, the organizers announced.
The festival, whose theme is “In-Between-Land”, will be opened by Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport.

First Korean film festival opens in Serbia
BELGRADE - The first festival of Korean film in Serbia has opened at the Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade with a screening of Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow, an action comedy directed by Kim Suk-Yoon.
The festival marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Serbia.

Execution of infrastructure projects to be stepped up
BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will closely cooperate to accelerate the implementation of projects financed by the bank, head of the ministry Zorana Mihajlovic and EBRD Country Director for Serbia Mateo Patrone have said during a meeting in Belgrade.
