Gazprom: The Export to Serbia Grew by 37.6%, to Bulgaria - by 19.4%

Russia's gas monopoly, Gazprom, in March increased supplies to countries, which may be clients of the Turkish Stream projects, Russian TASS agency reports.

The company reported its export to Turkey only increased by 51% year-on-year.

During March, the supplies to foreign clients grew by 3.3% (496bcm) year-on-year.

Russia's Gazprom plans to build Turkish Stream pipeline by end of 2019

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said in a statement on March 29 that the company aims to finish construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline by the end of 2019, Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency and Russia's TASS have reported. 

Gazprom plans to start laying Turkish Stream undersea pipes in the second half of this year, according to the statement.

Gazprom set to soon start Turkish Stream offshore section

Gazprom will begin building the offshore section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline in the coming months, a Gazprom board member said Feb. 28.      

The construction process will start in the second half of 2017, Oleg Aksyutin said in Moscow, adding that progress on the gas transportation system in Russia had been largely completed.

South Stream Project Will Be Carried Out, Russian Official Says

The abandoned South Stream gas pipeline project designed to pump Russian gas into Central Europe via Bulgaria "will probably be carried out," Russia's commercial attaché to Bulgaria has said.

At a Russian-Bulgarian business forum in Bulgaria, Igor Ilinkin has recalled that South Stream's alternative project, Turkish Stream, will only consist of two pipes.

Turkish Parliament ratifies deal on Turkish Stream gas pipeline

The Turkish Parliament passed a bill ratifying an intergovernmental agreement with Russia on building the Turkish Stream gas pipeline late on Dec. 1.

Ankara and Moscow signed the gas pipeline agreement in Istanbul on Oct. 10 after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting in a bid to further normalize ties after the jet crisis.
