Bulgaria's Defence Council to Meet over Proposed Acquisition of New Warplane

The defence council to Bulgaria's defence ministry is expected to meet on Tuesday to review the draft project for acquisition of a new warplane for the needs of the country's air force.

This was announced by Bulgarian Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev during a press conference on Monday.

Bulgarian MPs to Dissolve Ad Hoc Committee on Alleged Russian, Turkish Interference

The Bulgarian parliament is expected to dissolve the recently established ad hoc committee of inquiry on allegations of Russian and Turkish interference in the internal affairs of Bulgaria.

This was stated by high-level sources within the main ruling party GERB for Standart daily.

Deputy Head of Bulgaria's Refugee Agency 'Also Fired'

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has sacked Aleksandar Dimitrov as deputy chairman of the State Agency for Refugees (SAR), news website Dnevnik.bg quotes government sources as saying.

Earlier this week, Nikola Kazakov was dismissed as head of the SAR, along with the agency's Chief Secretary, Zlatko Aleksandrov.

Bulgaria Fully Supports Serbia's European Integration, PM Borisov

At a meeting with the President of the Serbian National Assembly Maja Gojkovic in Sofia on Tuesday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov assured that Bulgaria is fully supporting the European integration of Belgrade.

Borisov added that Bulgaria is delighted with the successes and the progress achieved by its western neighbour in this respect, the government's press service informs.

Bulgaria PM Refers Misuse of Funding at Refugee Agency to Prosecution

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said he has referred the case of reported misuse of funding by the State Agency for Refugees (SAR) to the prosecution.

Instances of misuse, like the procurement of food for refugees accomodated in SAR's center at inflated prices, without calling public tenders, were reportd by private national NOVA TV station.

Bulgaria Govt, Shell to Sign Gas Exploration Agreement

Bulgaria and Shell are set to sign an agreement for offshore gas exploration on Tuesday, the government has announced.

Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and Shell Exploration&Production BV Eileen Wilkinson with take part in the ceremony that is due on Tuesday morning at the Council of Ministers.

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has also been invited to attend.
