Tens of thousands rally against COVID curbs in Europe and Australia
Tens of thousands took to the streets in cities across Europe and Australia on Nov. 20 as anger mounted over fresh COVID restrictions imposed against a resurgent pandemic.
And Dutch police faced a second night of rioting - this time in The Hague - after the previous night's violence in the port city of Rotterdam.
Prison population declines by over 8 pct in Turkey
The population of prisons in Turkey has decreased by 8.5 percent to some 266,831 as of Dec. 31, 2020, compared to the same day of 2019, figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) show.
"A total of 96 percent of the inmates are males, leaving with just 4 percent female prisoners," TÜİK said in a statement on Nov. 2.
