Indictment accepted almost four years after death of young Gezi victim Elvan

The Istanbul 17th Court of Serious Crimes has accepted an indictment regarding the death of 14-year-old Berkin Elvan, who was killed with a tear gas canister during the Gezi protests in June 2013.

The indictment was completed on Dec. 7 after nearly three years of investigation, with the prosecutor saying the police officer had displayed "probable intent" in killing the boy. 

Belgium seeks 30 years in prison for DHKP-C member over crimes committed in Turkey

A Belgian prosecutor on Dec. 5 sought a 30-year jail term in absentia for an outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) member being tried for crimes committed in Turkey and for being an accomplice in the 1996 assassination of the former head of Sabancı Holding, one of Turkey's top family-owned industrial conglomerates. 

Slain Turkish prosecutor Kiraz commemorated on first anniversary of killing

Turkish prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz was commemorated on the first anniversary of his death at Istanbul's Ça?layan Courthouse, where he was shot dead after being taken hostage by members of the outlawed far-left group the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C). 

Two DHKP/C militants killed, two officers wounded in operation after attack on Istanbul police station

Two female militants of the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) have been killed after opening fire at a riot police station in Istanbul's Bayrampa?a district on the morning of March 3. 

Two police officers were wounded in the ensuing clashes.
