Hotel employees in Turkey have been highly responsive to the calls for getting vaccinated against the coronavirus as the inoculation rate among them is high, the country's tourism and culture minister has said.

Turkey is applying the same COVID-19 measures for all arrivals as the EU, the country's tourism minister said on July 2. 

The Sümela Monastery in the Black Sea province of Trabzon was reopened to visitors on July 1 after the completion of more than five years of restoration works.

Turkey announced on June 27 that it has discovered 11 new hills around the famed ancient site of Göbeklitepe in southeastern Şanlıurfa province.

With the resumption of full-scale air traffic between Turkey and Russia, tourism professionals now expect around 1 million Russian tourists to flock to Turkish resorts starting from July.
