Kristalina Georgieva Officially Is Bulgaria's EU Commissioner Nominee

Kristalina Georgieva officially was nominated by Bulgaria's president Rosen Plevneliev for a second term as Bulgaria's EU commissioner, report the Bulgarian-language media. 

Her nomination will be officially made at the first meeting of the country's new caretaker government by the Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki. 

Bulgaria to Seek EU Solidarity Fund Aid for Flood-Stricken Mizia

Bulgaria will seek help from the European Solidarity Fund in overcoming the consequences of the disastrous floods which hit northwestern Bulgarian town of Mizia, Saturday night.

The damage evaluation will start on Monday, Nikolay Nikolov, head of the Chief Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection told Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).

Outgoing Bulgarian Foreign Minister Slams New Sanctions against Russia

Bulgaria's outgoing Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin has suggested that new sanctions against Russia will have a negative impact on the entire EU.

In a Wednesday interview for the Bulgarian National Television, he claimed that the restrictive measures which the 28 EU Member States were currently discussing would not affect Bulgaria.
