Eurostat figures show lower food inflation in Greece than the European average, but higher price increases in food that this country is self-sufficient in.
Is this yet another Greek paradox or the result of the structural problems of the Greek market and the various distortions that still exist throughout the production, distribution and marketing chain, from the field to the shelf?

Greece has Europe’s oldest professors
Greece has the oldest university lecturers in Europe and the fewest aged under 35, according to a recent report by the National Authority for Higher Education (EThAAE). More specifically, of the 17,049 permanent lecturers at Greek universities, more than half are over 50.

Hiring within the European Labour Market
Written by Neža Sevčnikar, EURES Adviser for Employers EUROSTAT reports that in 2020 among the EU citizens of working age (20 -64), 3.3 % resided in a Member State other than that of their citizenship. According to Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SURS) more than 15,000 EU-citizens from another EU country worked in Slovenia.

Eurobank – Pandemic and energy crisis create downside risks for the 4th quarter 2021
The recovery continued in the third quarter of 2021, however the resurgence of the pandemic and the energy crisis pose downside risks for the fourth quarter of 2021 and jeopardize the disposable income of households.
This is the main conclusion of Eurobank's weekly study "7 DAYS ECONOMY".
Bulgarians - Most Mentally Stable in the EU
Bulgaria and Romania are at the bottom of the ranking of the European statistical agency Eurostat for the share of citizens of EU countries suffering from chronic depression.
The share of citizens of EU countries suffering from chronic depression in 2019 is 7.2%, according to Eurostat.
According to researchers, this share has increased by 0.3% compared to 2014.

Citu: Eurostat confirms cheapest food in the EU is in Romania
Prime Minister Florin Citu says that Eurostat statistical data confirm that Romania has the cheapest food in the EU which debunks "another fake news about prices 'exploding.' "Eurostat confirms: the cheapest food in the European Union is in Romania! This is how we kill another fake news story about the 'explosion' of prices," Citu wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
