Greek health authorities on Tuesday stepped up preparations for dealing with the possible appearance of a deadly new coronavirus that has killed at least 132 people and infected thousands in China since its outbreak earlier this month.

Members of the self-proclaimed anarchist group Rouvikonas barged into Evangelismos hospital in the district Kolonaki on Thursday noon to protest the worsening state of national healthcare and the deteriorating working conditions for doctors and workers.

The citadel's lightning rod was hit by a bolt and its impact smashed the windows of the ticket booths at the entrance to the ancient site, injuring two Culture Ministry employees and two tourists.
