A criminal appeals court in Piraeus on Friday rejected an appeal by two men who are serving lengthy sentences for colluding with Alket Rizai (photo), a convicted murderer.
Trains Between Sofia and Thessaloniki to Run Again
The Greek railway company OSE restores the passenger trains between Sofia and Thessaloniki from May 10, reports Bulgaria's public broadcaster BNR.
The train connection was terminated three years ago by OSE for economic reasons. Now the company renews it, along with the lines from Thessaloniki to Skopje and Belgrade.

A 51-year-old American woman who suffered serious stomach injuries during Easter celebrations on Saturday night when a large firecracker was thrown into a church courtyard on the island of Santorini remained in critical condition on Tuesday in the intensive-care unit of a hospital in Iraklio, Crete, but doctors said her condition was improving.

Fewer cars left capital for Easter weekend
There was a marked reduction in the number of people leaving Athens on Good Friday and Easter Saturday this year compared to 2013, according to statistics provided by the traffic police.
A total of 382,859 cars passed the Athens-Corinth highway tolls on the two days, which was 3.1 percent lower than last year.

Police seize 186 kilos of cannabis
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped a car on the Igoumenitsa-Ioannina highway in northwestern Greece on Monday that was laden with 186.5 kilos of cannabis.
The drug was packed into 176 bundles that were hidden in the boot of the car and under the back seat. The 34-year-old Albanian man who was driving the car was arrested.

A homemade explosive device planted under a car belonging to the wife of Deputy Parliament Speaker Giorgos Kalantzis detonated early on Thursday outside the couples home in Kavala, northern Greece, causing serious damage to the vehicle but no injuries.
Toddler killed in tragic accident in Thessaloniki
A 14-month-old child sustained fatal injuries on Thursday after being hit by a truck that accidentally reversed into her in the Thessaloniki suburb of Kordelio.
The girl had been with her father but slipped away momentarily at the moment that a 35-year-old local man was reversing his truck.
