OASA upgrades passenger information services in three metro stations
The public information services on the Athens public transport network at the main entrances to the Greek capital have been upgraded, with an info kiosk at the arrivals area of Athens' international airport and the creation of a new service desk at the metro station at the port of Piraeus.
Yearly 11% rise in passenger traffic at Attica ports
Passenger traffic in the ports of Piraeus and Rafina was up 10.63% and 11.33% respectively in the first 15 days of July compared with the same period last year, official figures showed on Friday.
Security for UEFA Super Cup game discussed
After 16 years, Greece will host a major soccer event, the UEFA Super Cup game between current Champions League title holders Manchester City and Europa League winners Sevilla.
The game, to be played at the Karaiskakis Stadium in the Piraeus neighborhood of Neo Faliro on August 16, will attract upwards of 15,000 supporters of the two teams.

High demand for Larnaca line
Next week, on July 29, the Larnaca-Piraeus ferry line is set to launch, and demand has surged, with the Daleela ferry already fully booked.
Cyprus' Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis told radio station SPOR FM there has been a tremendous response since day one, with bookings surpassing 11,000 and showing significant improvement compared to last year.

Soccer security discussed in view of UEFA Super Cup final
With Greece set to host the UEFA Super Cup final in just under a month's time, the Citizen Protection Ministry on Monday convened a meeting of all the relevant agencies to discuss security measures for the big soccer match on August 16.
Coastal shipping companies announce discounts in ferry tickets
Coastal shipping companies on Thursday began offering ticket discounts of up to 50% on passenger ferries departing from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, Thessaloniki and Kavala, following a meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis where they were asked to cut transport costs for the average Greek family.
One of the world’s biggest container ships docks in Piraeus
One of the largest container ships in the world, and one of the two largest that have so far docked in Piraeus, was welcomed on its maiden voyage by the Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT).
This is the OOCL Piraeus, a mega container vessel owned by Orient Overseas Container Line Europe, a subsidiary of the COSCO Shipping Group.
Corrections officer’s car damaged in hand grenade attack
The car of a man who works at Athens' high-security Korydallos prison was targeted in an explosion at the district of Haidari, western Athens, early Saturday morning, police said.
The vehicle was parked in an open parking area when a hand grenade exploded at 5 a.m., causing extensive damages to the black jeep and minor ones to two more cars parked nearby.

New Democracy is leading in the vote of Greeks living overseas, as counting of ballot boxes from the 35 foreign countries where polling stations were set up continues.

Cyprus ferry link proving very popular
At a meeting with Greek Ambassador in Nicosia Ioannis Papameletiou on Wednesday, Cyprus' Deputy Minister for Shipping Maria Hadjimanolis announced that bookings for the Cyprus-Greece maritime connection have surpassed 10,000 since the line began operating.
