 The Coalition Democratic Bulgaria would hold talks with the second largest parliamentary represented party - "There are such a people" (ITN) led by Slavi Trifonov, about what kind of government could be nominated.

Protesters gathered in front of the old parliament building with the inscription "Unity Makes Strength", where the solemn opening session of the newly elected 45th National Assembly begins. They demanded that parliament dissolve itself, new elections and a caretaker government.

Five of the newly elected Members of the National Assembly - the leader of There Is Such a People Slavi Trifonov and two of his MPs, Atanas Kostadinov from BSP and Khalil Letifov from MRF, have been quarantined because of COVID-19.

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) will not support in Parliament a Liberal minority government, and snap election is the only solution if the governing coalition parties cannot sort out the current crisis. "PSD will throw its parliamentary support behind no Liberal minority government whatsoever.

These days, I accidentally overheard a conversation: "Well, will Slavi Trifonov keep quiet further?" a woman asked. "What can a man do when he doesn't know what to say," her companion replied, laughing. Yes, this explanation for the silence and low profile of the party, which managed to win the second most seats in the new parliament, sounds like a joke.

The first sitting of the newly elected 45th National Assembly will take place on Thursday (April 15th). Today, President Rumen Radev signed a decree convening it.

Ljubljana – Slovenian Press Agency (STA) director Bojan Veselinovič has told the government he is granting it access to all books of account and documents, even though the STA has never received a formal request to that effect. He said the government should say, in writing, who will access the documents on its behalf and in what way.

The nationalist VMRO party is seeking annulment of results of voting in Turkey for a new Bulgarian parliament. The party position was made public at a news briefing by Angel Dzhambazki, one of the two VMRO representatives in the European Parliament.
