Greek Prez. asks European Council Prez. to convene extra ordinary Summit on migration crisis

President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos had a phone conversation with European Council President Donal Tusk on the critical issue of the migrant crisis, Tuesday. Tusk was in transit at the Athens International Airport ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ when the Greek President requested he intervene to summon an extraordinary EU Summit as soon as possible.

President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos once more reiterated that Greece’s position within the European family during a brief greeting to law students at the Presidential Mansion Tuesday. “The country’s course in the European Union and the Eurozone was and remains non-negotiable and undisturbed”, he said.

Pres. Pavlopoulos on World Environment Day

President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, on the occasion of the “World Environment Day”, spoke on fiscal development and environment protection. “Each and every one of us needs to assume responsibility towards the conscious protection of the environment, both for the world we live in and the world we aim to ensure for future generations”, he stated.

 

Paul Krugman meets PM Tsipras; President Pavlopoulos in Athens

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met on Saturday with Paul Krugman, the renowned economist who won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2008, at the government headquarters in Maximos Mansion.

The meeting between the two men lasted about an hour and a half and no statements were made at its conclusion.

President of Republic Pavlopoulos to visit Kalamata for Independence Day celebrations

President of Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Monday, March 23, will visit the city of Kalamata, the second largest city of the Peloponnese, to attend celebrations for the Independence Day.

The Greek President will attend the doxology at the Church of the Holy Apostles, officiated by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia.
