Passengers nightmare! Plane bounces and sways in gale-force winds while trying to land (vids)
A KLM passenger plane swayed side to side as its pilot struggled to land it at Manchestor airport just as Storm Desmond hit. Strong guts of winds bounced it up and down as its wheels hit the runway, blowing it back into the air.
Air France bomb hoax caused emergency landing and evacuation
An Air France Boeing 777 en route from Mauritius to Paris was evacuated at Mombasa airport, Kenya, after a suspicious device was found in the plane’s toilets. Air France Chief Frederic Gagey said the fake bomb device was a cardboard box, paper and a timer and described the fake bomb placement as an “extremely aggressive act”.
Athens-Amsterdam get a little closer with KLM morning flights
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines are resuming morning Athens-Amsterdam fights from March 27 through to October 29, 2016. The flights will depart from Athens at 6 a.m. and arrive at Amsterdam at 8.30 a.m. local time. A return flight will leave Amsterdam at 8.35 p.m. and arrive in Athens at 00.50 a.m. the next day.
China signs deal with Germany for 130 Airbus jets
China and Germany signed a deal on Oct. 29 that will see Chinese airlines buy 130 jets manufactured by Airbus Group SE, sending shares in the European plane maker higher.
The order, valued at $17 billion, was announced after Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel met China's Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing.
