It took a bit of help from a stranger and a 20-gig tour in the US for La Femme to get people to notice the French psych-punk band back home, but notice they did, and now the act is heading to Athens with two albums under its belt, 2013's "Psycho Tropical Berlin" and its latest, "Mystere," for what promises to be an energy-packed show at Technopolis on Saturday, September 2.

Kamasi Washington | Athens | July 4

American saxophonist and composer Kamasi Washington - dubbed the "high priest of sax" by GQ magazine in 2016 - comes to Athens's Technopolis venus for one show on Tuesday, July 4, with a brand of jazz that despite its complexity and sophistication manages to enchant lay audiences as well as jazz aficionados.

Gazarte Birthday | Athens | July 12

The Gazarte music venue celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special, festive show at Technopolis, the municipal cultural complex nearby on the main square of Gazi, inviting some of its audiences favorite acts. The headliners of the Wednesday, July 12, show are New York-based pop singer LP and California's psychedelic soul band Monophonics.

Alkinoos Ioannidis | Athens | July 3

Greek singer-songwriter Alkinoos Ioannidis, known for his emotive renditions of Greek folk classics, has cast his nets wide to enrich his repertory with music from different parts of the world. He will be joined by five musicians on conventional and traditional Greek instruments for a performance at Technopolis on Monday, July 3, starting at 9 p.m.

Circus Festival | Athens | To June 5

Celebrate the holiday weekend marveling at a whole host of circus acts at Technopolis in Gazi, with acrobats, jugglers, musicians, dancers and artists representing the entire range of alternative performing arts, not to mention loads of entertaining activities such as dancing and juggling lessons, among the fun things to do and see.

Technopolis Jazz Festival | Athens | May 23-28

The Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival is celebrating its 17th anniversary this year with a six-day schedule jam-packed with local and international acts, including Israel's Amit Friedman, the Kadri Voorand Quartet from Estonia, the Sweden-based Andreas Hourdakis Trio, Dutch saxophonist Yuri Honing, Germany's Grandbrothers, Rumba Attack from Cyprus and Britain's Portico Quartet.
