AECOM interested in building sports facilities in Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic and senior vice-president of sports infrastructure development company AECOM Riad Nashif signed a protocol of cooperation in the field of public private partnership.

The UAE-based AECOM expressed interest in cooperation with Serbia, Udovicic said Monday.

Ljajic: First contracts between Serbian and UAE companies

BELGRADE - Serbian companies have signed their first preliminary contracts with companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Serbia's Trade Minister Rasim Ljajic has said.

Ljajic met on Monday with officials of 20 companies from the UAE, of which some have already opened and others have said that they would open their offices in Serbia.

The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Greece, Evangelos Venizelos, yesterday signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two states for the mutual promotion and protection of investments, seen as a message of trust from the UAE to Greece.

Officials from the United Arab Emirates are set to announce in Athens on Tuesday the UAE’s participation in the share capital of a major Greek construction company active in the sectors of energy and real estate.

Scorpions Drummer Jailed in Dubai

James Kottak, drummer of the German rock stars Scorpions, was jailed in Dubai for indecent behaviour and being drunk, reports Gulf News. 

According to the website, Kottak was arrested at the Dubai airport on April for getting drunk, cursing Muslims, making an indecent gesture to a group of passengers and removing his pants at the airport. He also insulted policemen.
