Serb List to seek postponement of assembly session

BELGRADE -- The Serb List will request postponement of the planned continuation of the inaugural session of the Kosovo assembly, scheduled for Friday.

This was revealed on Thursday by the director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić.

ZUBIN POTOK - Head of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric said that the situation in northern KiM, regarding the rule of law and safety of citizens and property, cannot be normalized until courts and prosecutor's offices with mostly Serb staff are established, in line with the Brussels agreement.

Self-Determination member to represent Priština

PRIŠTINA -- A member of the Self-Determination Movement, a party led by Albin Kurti, will in he future represent Priština in the technical dialogue with Belgrade.

BELGRADE - The EU members with diplomatic offices in Kosovo and head of the EU office in Pristina have called on the political parties there to continue the talks with Belgrade.

The political and technical dialogue should continue in order to get results, a joint statement says.

A coalition agreement reached between four opposition parties that aim to form a government in Kosovo has assigned management of the EU-led dialogue with Serbia to the nationalist Levizja Vetevendosje [Self-Determination Movement] party.

MITROVICA - EULEX Acting Head of Mission Joelle Vachter and Head of the EU Office in Kosovo Samuel Zbogar talked in northern Mitrovica on Tuesday with political representatives of north Kosovo Serbs about the security of citizens and the rule of law.

BELGRADE - Serbia's Minister without Portfolio in chareg of EU integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Council of Europe Development Bank official Stephan Sellen signed on Tuesday an donation agreement worth EUR 26.7 million that will help provide housing for 1,585 of the poorest refugee families.

Chapter 35 consultations "successful"

BRUSSELS -- Office for Kosovo Director Marko Đurić said the Sept. 5 consultations with EU representatives on Chapter 35, including the issue of Kosovo, were "successful."

"Recognition of Kosovo not subject of talks"

BELGRADE -- Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić has said that Belgrade and Priština are not conducting negotiations on a recognition of Kosovo and Metohija.

He pointed out that "such a possibility has not even been hinted at, in any way."

BRUSSELS - Discussions on the normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina ties - which ended on Thursday with the initialling of plans to build improved integrated crossings at the administrative line with Kosovo - resumed in Brussels early Friday under the auspices of the European Union.
