Serb List to seek postponement of assembly session

BELGRADE -- The Serb List will request postponement of the planned continuation of the inaugural session of the Kosovo assembly, scheduled for Friday.

This was revealed on Thursday by the director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić.

"We want the Serb LIst to participate in a government that will be turned towards the dialogue," Đurić told reporters at the Palace of Serbia.

Speaking after a meeting with a delegation of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU (COELA), he reiterated that "the support of Belgrade and the international community" will be given to a Kosovo government turned oriented toward the dialogue.

Đurić added that Belgrade's position is that the dialogue must be continued - but not as a conversation between two countries - "as some would like" - and not as negotiations prejudging the status of Kosovo, but rather "as a dialogue that will lead to the normalization of relations and improvement of living conditions."
