EC: Bulgaria is without an Offshore Wind Energy Project
Bulgaria does not currently have a project for wind energy from offshore installations, nor has it announced any prospect.

US offshore wind power lease sale nets record $4.3 billion
Energy companies bid a record $4.37 billion on Feb. 25 for leases to develop wind power off the U.S. east coast, authorities said, after sales key to America's renewable electricity ambitions.
The six sites are in an area called the New York Bight and total 488,000 acres (197,500 hectares), making it the biggest U.S. renewable power auction ever.
Frenzy for vessels that support offshore wind operations
A new record was recorded in 2021 in the capacity of offshore wind industry, while the prospects for 2022 are also positive. Investments in new orders for newly built ships to install offshore wind turbines were also at historic highs.
Petrol launches its second wind farm in Croatia
Knin – Slovenian energy company Petrol has opened its second wind farm in Croatia. Ljubač, situated near the town of Knin in south Croatia, has nine turbines, which should generate around 96 gigawatts of electricity a year, covering the needs of 30,000 households.

Turkey ranks as 5th biggest wind investor in Europe
Turkey has been ranked as the fifth-biggest wind power investor in Europe in 2020 with €1.6 billion, according to WindEurope's report on April 13.
The Financing and Investment Trends in the European Wind Industry in 2020 report said that investments in offshore wind farms hit a record €26.3 billion, while investments in new onshore wind farms reached €16.5 billion.
Slovenian-based firms building EUR 40m wind farm in N Macedonia
Skopje – The Slovenian-based energy group Interenergo and the investment firm Trigal will be building a 30MW wind farm in North Macedonia. The EUR 40 million investment will be built in Bogdanci in the south-east of the country.
Islanders seek to rewind energy project
The inhabitants of two tiny islets in the Aegean Sea are seeking to be included in this year's census in an effort to contain the installation of wind turbines in their locality.
Activists say that giving Kinaros and Levitha - located in the Dodecanese cluster and part of the Natura 2000 eco network - uninhabited status will facilitate the unchecked expansion of wind farms.

Pelican deaths spark debate on wind farm locations
