Animals in shelters run by municipalities die during 10-day-long public holiday

Several animals living in shelters run by municipalities across Turkey have died during the 10-day-long public holiday, private broadcaster NTV reported on Sept. 4. 

The Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) holiday had been extended to 10 days in Turkey, longer than the usual duration after it coincided with the Aug. 30 Victory Day. 

Flood hits houses, greenhouses in Turkey's Yalova

A flood in the Çınarcık district of the northwestern province of Yalova damaged a number of houses and greenhouses on July 4, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The flood in the town of Koru came after a heavy rainfall in the early hours of the morning, affecting a stream that had been under the process of remediation.
