One more person infected with the novel coronavirus, a nurse from Tandarei, has died, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Tuesday. The death toll because of COVID-19 thus reaches 332 in Romania. "Based on the first information, the nurse from Tandarei died on April 13.

Greece's death toll from the novel coronavirus has reached 100, after a patient at the capital's Attikon Hospital succumbed to the disease late on Monday.

According to preliminary reports, the patient was a man aged 84 years old.

Greece confirmed its first novel coronavirus infection on February 26 and reported the first death from the Covid-19 disease on March 12.

As the world tries to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, many of the most-populated cities are practically empty, with deserted resort towns and touristic hot spots.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide passed 1.9 million on April 14 as the pandemic swept across the globe.

Johns Hopkins University's website showed over 119,686 people have died from the virus.

The total number of people recovered from COVID-19 reached passed 453,289, according to the data.

The number of coronavirus infected in Switzerland increased by 280 people in the last 24 hours, which is significantly less than the previous day's increase (400 people) and two days ago (552), TASS reported, citing the Federal Department of Healthcare.

As many as 310 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the last update, taking the total number of infections to 6,300, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports. A number of 204 patients are being treated in intensive care units. Of the infected persons, 852 were declared cured and discharged from hospital.
