As many as 441 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the last update, taking the total number of infections to 5,202, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Thursday. Of the infected persons, 647 were declared cured and discharged from hospital. A number of 178 patients are being treated in intensive care units.

Turkey has launched a project for reducing the spread of the novel coronavirus by using location data from patients' mobile devices, the country's Communications Directorate said on April 8. 

Turkey added pandemics to the list of the country's urgent situations, the Official Gazette announced early on April 9.

The decision came as the novel coronavirus spreads throughout the country.

Immune plasma therapy, which involves using the plasma of recovered COVID-19 patients to treat those infected with the virus, was also added to the Communique on Health Implications.

Jovanovic appealed to TV Prva that anyone who has any symptoms and meets the criteria for testing for a coronavirus to report to the health COVID centers.
"The key measure is to test potential contacts and all those who have been in contact with COVID-positive persons, because that is how we cut the transmission chain," Jovanovic told TV Prva.

As many as 344 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the last update, the total number of infections amounting to 4,761, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday. Of the infected persons, 528 were declared cured and discharged from hospital. A number of 62 patients are being treated in intensive care units.

"As an official, he is in charge of publishing information on COVID-19 patients through the IDO system, which he forwarded via Viber to other persons who, although his colleagues, are not authorized to dispose of this information," the Prosecution said in a press release.

Australia's coronavirus-infected population has declined from 5 to 2%, Health Minister Greg Hunt told a news conference in Sydney today, TASS reported.

More than 313,000 coronavirus tests have been carried out in the country since the first case of infection was registered on January 25, the minister said.

The measures imposed by the authorities to curb the spread of COVID-19 have been tightened up several times since they were first imposed in mid-March. The changes have been announced at special press conferences, usually in the evening, and then published in the Official Gazette, often with slight alterations.
