BELGRADE - Serbian basketball champions Red Star Belgrade beat arch-rivals Partizan 80-73 at home on Wednesday evening to extend their lead in the playoffs final series of the regional ABA League to 2-0.
Popovic lays wreath at memorial to WWII liberators of Belgrade
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister without portfolio Nenad Popovic laid a wreath at a memorial to the WWII liberators of Belgrade on Wednesday to commemorate May 15, 1945, the day when WWII military operations ended in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
Poplovic laid the wreath as an envoy of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
UNGA debate on Srebrenica resolution likely to be postponed again
BELGRADE - A UN General Assembly debate on a Srebrenica resolution will most likely be postponed again until May 22, Tanjug learns.
This means Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will be travelling to Kotor, Montenegro, for a May 16 summit of EU and Western Balkan leaders.

Serbia to send aid to population of Gaza
BELGRADE - The Serbian government decided on Friday to provide aid to Palestine to help alleviate the critical humanitarian situation affecting the population of the Gaza Strip.
The approx. 900 t of aid - food, water, medical equipment and tents - are worth close to 3 mln euros, the government said in a statement.

Tanjug, Xinhua exchange agreement on cooperation
BELGRADE - In the presence of the presidents of Serbia and China, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, Serbia's Tanjug News Agency and the Chinese news agency Xinhua exchanged an agreement on cooperation in Belgrade on Wednesday.
Under the agreement, signed last week, the agencies will be exchanging video, photo and text materials.

BELGRADE - Members of a Chinese delegation to be accompanying Chinese President Xi Jinping on a two-day visit to Serbia arrived in Belgrade on Tuesday afternoon.
Vucevic: Defence ministry staying in safe hands
BELGRADE - Handing over the duty of defence minister to his successor Bratislav Gasic, Serbia's new PM Milos Vucevic said he believed the Ministry of Defence was staying in safe hands.
"It was a great honour to be in charge of the defence ministry and serve our greatest ideal: a free and independent Serbia," Vucevic wrote in a post on the social media network X.
