Stjepanovic: I did all it took

BERLIN - Serbian swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic, the new European champion in men's 200m freestyle, says that he did all it took to win the gold medal in late Wednesday's final.

Stjepanovic won his second gold medal in Berlin, setting a new national record (1:45.78).
"I knew all the time that world and European record holder Paul Biedermann is close behind and I maintained the tempo. Obviously I had a better 50 metres than he did," Stjepanovic told the RTS.

Previously, the outstanding swimmer won the European gold in 400m freestyle on Monday, also setting a new Serbian national record (3:45.66) in the event.
