PM Ponta attends consecration of paintings of the Ascension Cathedral of Slobozia

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Sunday attended the consecration of the paintings of the Ascension Bishopric Cathedral of Slobozia.

The church service was conducted by priests led by Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Church (BOR), including 14 members of the BOR Saint Synod.

The national leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), major at rule, Victor Ponta, was accompanied by several PSD MPs, including leader of the PSD senatorial group Ilie Sarbu and local administration officials.

Also attending the event was national leader of the Opposition Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) Vasile Blaga, who was accompanied by PDL MPs.

More than 1,000 church goers attuned the consecration ceremony who could watch the service on a screen mounted before the cathedral. AGERPRES
