The Chamber of Deputies' Speaker Valeriu Zgonea says that Prime Minister Victor Ponta has proven in Sibiu that the Government is concerned with the problems of local authorities, regardless of the political affiliation of those heading them.

"Klaus Iohannis receives the lesson of the job well done from Victor Ponta. For the Romanian Government, led by Victor Ponta, the political affiliation of the local public administration does not matter. There is no discrimination when it comes to public investments, construction or rehabilitation of hospitals or schools, culture institutions or infrastructure," Valeriu Zgonea said in a release issued on Sunday by PSD.

He also says that during the PDL governance, local administrations led by PSD and PNL had greatly suffered.

"I remind Mr Iohannis that when his friends from PDL were in power, local administrations led by PSD and PNL had greatly suffered. I remember very well how public funds were directed by the PDL, which today is backing Iohannis, with dedication, to Cluj and Suceava, counties controlled by Prime Minister Boc and the people close to him," said Zgonea.

Among the Government's investments mentioned by Valeriu Zgonea as "irrefutable evidence of the job well done in Sibiu County by the Victor Ponta Government" are the Sibiu — Deva motorway, upgrading hospitals and clinics in Sibiu and rehabilitating the Astra Museum in Sibiu.
