Indonesian noodle plant opens in Indjija

INDJIJA - President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and Anthoni Salim, president of the Indonesian food company Indofood, opened in Indjija on Friday a plant that will produce Indomie instant noodles.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Vojvodina PM Igor Mirovic, Indonesian Ambassador to Serbia Harry Richard James Kandou and Indjija Mayor Vladimir Gak.

Nikolic said the opening of the plant was important not only for Indjija but entire Serbia as it represented a development opportunity for the national economy.

The plant will initially hire over 100 workers but there are plans for the figure to rise to 500 once the investment is complete, Nikolic said, adding that up to 90 pct of raw materials would be Serbian-made.
