Trial starts into 2014 attempted murder of lawyer

An Athens court on Monday started hearing the case of the 2014 attempted murder of lawyer Giorgos Antonopoulos, where the accused are two of three Albanian convicts allegedly involved in the killing last month of another lawyer, Michalis Zafeiropoulos.

Charged with ordering the hit against Antonopoulos is Aris Floros, a businessman convicted to embezzling millions of euros from power firm Energa-Hellas Power.

Floros did not appear, however, prompting a reaction from judges who ordered that he be brought before the court immediately.
