Thousands Attend Bosnian 'Justice For David' Protest

Bosnians have gathered for a protest rally over the unresolved case of David Dragicevic, the 21-year-old whose body was discovered in late March in shallow water in the river Crkvena.

Although police first said he most likely drowned, the fact that his body was covered in bruises fuelled suspicion about this version of events.

The failure of the police to fully resolve the case has been at the centre of public attention in Bosnia ever since.

For more than three months, people have gathered daily at 6pm in Banja Luka, the administrative centre of the Bosnia's mainly Serb entity, to protest over the unexplained death.

Parents of children who died in mysterious ways in Bosnia also attended the rally on Saturday.

"We urge all conscientious citizens to support these parents in the struggle for justice and for the truth about the deaths of their children," the Justice for David group said in a press release.
