BAKU - Partizan beat Neftci 2-1 in their second match in Baku on Thursday and qualified for the UEFA Europa League.

Skuletic scored the first goal for Partizan in the 24th minute, then Wobay retaliated in the 58th, but Skuletic sealed the victory in the 92nd minute with his second goal.

Partizan won the first match in Belgrade as well, 3-2, bringing the total score up to 5-3.

Serbia to open regional military training centre

NEW YORK - A UN Security Council (UNSC) meeting to present UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's regular quarterly report on the situation in Kosovo-Metohija will be held in New York on Friday.

Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will participate in the meeting.

BELGRADE – In the wake of the murder of a member of the Serbian Gendarmerie that occured in the night between Wednesday and Thursday, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (VS) Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander Salvatore Farina agreed Thursday to urgently strengthen joint VS-KFOR patrols, especially in the areas where yesterday's illegal logging had been spotted.

European Congress of Chimney Sweeps

BELGRADE -- The two-day 2014 European Congress of Chimney Sweeps started in Belgrade on Thursday.

It is rganized by the European Federation of Chimney Sweeps (ESCHFOE) in one of its member-states every two years.

Stevan Sindjelic, of the special police unit known as the Gendarmerie, died Thursday in Belgrade, after being shot by unknown attackers, reportedly illegal loggers from Kosovo.

Following his death, Nebojsa Stefanovic, the Interior Minister, said Serbia would not tolerate “terrorist attacks on its territory and the police would respond with force to any attack.

BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection set up a working group for coordination of the work of agricultural inspections and administrations for protection of herbal products and veterinary medicine with a view to providing adequate protection for the local market, the Ministry released.
