BELGRADE -- A total of 2,055 people requested asylum in Serbia in the first three months of 2014, and most of them - 947 - were Syrians.
This data was revealed on Tuesday by Executive Director of the Serbian Asylum Seeker Relief Center Radoš Đurović.

Two Thirds of Rebel Fighters In Syria Are European Citizens
Two thirds of the rebel fighters in Syria are citizens of European countries, says a report of the London-based International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation.
According to the report, entitled "Greenbirds: Measuring importance and influence in Syrian Foreign Fighter Networks'", around 10% of the foreign fighters are from Eastern Europe, Bulgaria included.
Albania Arrests Suspected Jihadist Recruiter
Albanian police said they arrested Pashja on Tuesday in cooperation with the Turkish police, following an international arrest warrant issued by a Tirana’s Serious Crimes Court on March 10.
Earlier, eight people, including two radical imams, were arrested in Albania on March 12, accused of recruiting Albanian citizens to fight in the bloody civil war in Syria.
