Tennis: Simona Halep to become WTA's No. 2 after Na Li announced she will skip tournaments

Romanian female tennis player Simona Halep, currently 3rd in the WTA ranking, will become the world's No. 2 after China's Na Li announced she is forced to skip a series of tournaments because of a long-standing knee injury.

Two-time grand slam champion Na Li, currently WTA's No. 2, on Thursday announced that she will be forced to miss a series of tournaments, among which those in Montreal, Cincinnati and even the US Open, because of a knee injury.
