President Iohannis: Atrocities in Libya show there is urgent need for political solution to this conflict

Senate speaker: Partnership proposed by Iohannis to Parliament turns into blunt criticism

Senate Speaker Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said in a release on Saturday that after the vote given by the senators on Varujan Vosganian case, the partnership recently proposed by President Klaus Iohannis to the Parliament 'has turned into blunt criticism of the opinion expressed by a majority of the senators'.

Presidents Iohannis, Poroshenko discuss in Brussels

Romanian President Nudges France Over Schengen

During his first official visit abroad, to France, Romania's new President, Klaus Iohannis,  said that he was optimistic that Romania would soon be allowed to join the EU's border-free Schengen zone.

"I've asked for France to support our entering the Schengen area. I do hope that this will happen very soon," Iohannis said in Paris after meeting French President Francois Hollande.
