Uh-oh, those summer flights
Flight delays have become routine in recent years, not only in Greece, but also at the European level.
Last year, in the 43 countries belonging to the European Aviation Safety Agency (Eurocontrol), three in 10 flights arrived over 15 minutes late, while on average planes would depart 17.8 minutes later than scheduled.

Aegean sees first-quarter turnover rise higher
The turnover of Greece's flagcarrier Aegean Airlines rose 17% to 268.8 million euros in the first quarter of 2024 on an annual basis.
Following the positive momentum of 2023, Aegean continued its upward trend with a further increase in capacity in the winter months.

United Airlines launches direct Athens-Chicago link
United Airlines has launched a new daily direct flight between Athens International Airport and its main hub in Chicago O'Hare, increasing flights from Greece by more than 30%.
This new seasonal flight from Athens to Chicago O'Hare adds to United's existing flights from Greece, which started earlier this summer.
Aegean offers additional seats this summer
Aegean Airlines, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is offering a greater number of available seats during the summer season of 2024, placing particular emphasis on further reducing seasonality.
As stated by Yannis Rasoglou, director of Network and Airline Partnerships, this summer the airline will have 13.4 million seats, up 6% from last year.

No seats left on Easter ferries
Ferries will depart on Thursday and Friday with a 100% occupancy rate, to serve the Easter travelers, while there are very few airline seats that remain available on the Aegean Airlines network for trips either in Greece or abroad.
