Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew & Pope Francis to visit refugee camps in Greece in April

The Standing Synod by Archbishop Hieronymus announced the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis would be making a joint visit to refugee hotspots in Greece on April 14 or 15. The head of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop of Athens & Greece, Hieronymus made the visit of the two heads of the oldest Christian denominations public Tuesday.

Nikolic "persuading patriarch to organize pope's visit"

Orthodox Christians are in danger of losing their lives if they publicly profess their faith in many countries, "especially those with Islam at the forefront."

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, who on Wednesday started his visit to Russia, said this for Sputnik ahead of his trip, warning that "Christianity must not once again be preached in basements."

Pope Francis and Russian Orthodox Patriach Kirill called for restoring Christian unity and preserving the traditions of Christianity in a historic meeting held in Cuba on Friday.
