Space Hellas announced on Thursday that, as an Intrakat subcontractor, it has been awarded the implementation of a Fraport Greece project that includes an integrated access control system and a video management system for the company that manages 14 regional Greek airports.

Regional airports were neglected before being acquired by Fraport

Greek airports see increase in arrivals in September
An overall increase of 11.4 percent in arrivals during the month of September was reported by Fraport at the 14 airports it manages across Greece.
According to Fraport, domestic passenger traffic increased by 5.9 percent year-over-year last month, while international passenger traffic rose 12.6 percent, with Thessaloniki, Mytilini and Kos seeing the largest increase.
Gov't says Fraport will be paid for proven problems in airports
Deputy Economy Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas conceded on Friday that the government is in the process of examining a list of problems that Fraport Greece identified and resolved at the 14 regional airports it took control of in spring, adding that if the German-led consortium can offer proof of the problems the state will pay any compensation that is due.
Fraport submits list with damages to airports
Fraport, which in April signed a 1.23 billion euro deal to operate 14 regional airports in Greece, could seek compensation from the Greek state for damage to buildings and infrastructure that allegedly occurred during the takeover.
Kathimerini understands that the company has submitted an itemized list of the damages to the Civil Aviation Authority.

Fraport demands 70 million euros in compensation from Greek state
According to a report in German newspaper Spiegel report Fraport, the company that bought out 14 Greek regional airports is seeking financial compensation amounting to 70 million euros by the Greek state due the condition the airport terminals were in.
FRAPORT: “We found 12.000 burned out bulbs in the 14 regional airports”!
Apparently the Greek Civil Aviation Authority had left the 14 regional airports in the darkness. Therefore, when the German-Greek consortium FRAPORT took over last April, they found a total of 12.000 burned out bulbs in the fourteen regional airports.
