Much of Argentina's capital will shut down on Thursday as leaders from the world's biggest economies descend on Buenos Aires for the two-day G20 summit, which kicks off today, November 30, reported CNN. 

Economic growth will decelerate across advanced and emerging market economies, Moody's has said, noting that contractions in Turkey and Argentina, as well as a slowdown in China amid an escalation in trade war, will pull down aggregate G-20 emerging growth in 2019.

Trade and investment ministers from G20 countries meeting in Argentina said there was an "urgent need" to improve the World Trade Organization, a joint statement said on Sept.14.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova will participate in a high-level official event during the G20 tourism ministerial meeting in Buenos Aires, the ministry press service said.

Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of G20 countries met in Buenos Aires. The talks passed in the shadow of planned US duties on imports of steel and aluminum.

Finance Minister and EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) President Vladislav Goranov will represent the Council of the European Union at the first meeting of the Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors on 19-20 March at the G20 meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was announced by the press center of the  Ministry of Finance.

The finance ministers and central bank governors of France and Germany called for the policy and monetary implications of crypto-currencies to be placed on the agenda of the upcoming G20 meeting of the largest advanced and developing economies.

The International Monetary Fund is concerned about the excessive volatility of the bitcoin, as well as its popularity among criminals and terrorists. Representatives of the organization are calling for an international talk on encrypted data to be launched as soon as possible.

Backed by BRICS partners Russia and India, China will soon take the top spot from the United States as the world's biggest economy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told RT.

Lavrov pointed out that the growing influence of BRICS in the global economy and the G20 will lead to a multi-polar world.

The German insurers' association said the riots that accompanied the G20 summit in Hamburg earlier this month could cost insurance companies up to EUR 12 million (USD 13.8 million), according to Associated Press.
