Costas Bakoyannis to run for Athens mayor
Costas Bakoyannis, the regional governor of Central Greece, plans to officially announce his candidacy for Athens mayor on Monday, November 5.
Bakoyannis, 40, is the nephew of conservative opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Italy volatility has made it harder for Greece to sell bonds, Tsakalotos says
Volatility in Italian government debt has made it harder for Greece to return to bond markets, Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos told Reuters, but said he is comfortable with waiting for the right time to raise funds.
A recent selloff in Italian government debt has pushed up the borrowing costs of other Southern European countries, including Greece.
PM seeks proposals from opposition leaders for constitutional review
Ahead of an initiative to review the Greek Constitution, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has written to opposition leaders asking for their proposals.

Suspicious package sent to foreign ministry was harmless
A package that arrived by mail at the Greek Foreign Ministry on Friday and was deemed suspicious contained an electronic blood pressure monitor, according to police sources cited by state-run news agency ANA-MPA.
The parcel raised the alarm at the ministry which was evacuated by police earlier in the day.

IMF revises medium-term growth rate downward
The International Monetary Fund has upwardly revised its short-term forecasts while lowering its medium-term forecasts for Greek growth in its October 2018 World Economic Outlook, which will be published on Tuesday in the context of its annual meeting in Bali, Indonesia this week. Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will also be present at the event.
