Fire breaks out on Lesvos
Firemen were battling a fire on Wednesday on the island of Lesvos in the northern Aegean Sea.
The fire reportedly broke out at around 1 p.m. in a forest area located between the islands airport and the area of Aghia Marina.
Early reports suggested the fire broke out after a resident attempted to burn dry branches in his garden.

Coast guard rescues 32 migrants off Lesvos
Coast guard officers on Wednesday rescued 32 undocumented immigrants off the coast of Lesvos in the eastern Aegean after their suspected smugglers pierced the rubber dinghy in which they had been traveling.
The migrants, whose ethnic origin was unclear, were transported to Lesvos, where they were detained.

Two children, a girl and a boy, and three women were among seven migrants who drowned off the coast of the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos in the early hours of Tuesday when the plastic boat that was carrying them from Turkey to Greece took on water, the state-run Athens-Macedonia News Agency has confirmed.
