Dendias marks anniversary of Nazi Germany’s surrender

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday marked the anniversary of the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War Two, highlighting Greece's contribution to the Allied victory.

"78 years have passed since the surrender of Nazi Germany and Victory in Europe Day. Greece contributed to it with the sacrifices and struggle of its people, fulfilling its debt to humanity," he tweeted.

Significant efforts are under way to ensure that the period of flux between the two expected rounds of voting in Greece's general elections brings no unpleasant surprises with regard to the easing of tension in Greek-Turkish relations, but also to prepare for any likely upsets from the elections in Turkey.

FM announces relocation of Greek forces to Egypt for potential Sudan rescue

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced that jointly with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' it was decided to relocate Air Force aircraft and members of the army's Special Forces to Egypt on Sunday to participate in a potential operation to rescue Greek and Cypriot citizens that remain trapped in Sudan.
