Strasser commends Serbian government

Parade marks another step to strong democracy for Serbia
BELGRADE - Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Peter Burkhard said on Sunday the Belgrade Pride Parade was another step for Serbia towards the adoption of international standards in human rights when it comes to the freedoms of assembly and expression.
EU welcomes Belgrade Pride Parade
BRUSSELS - EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele welcomed on Sunday the Belgrade Pride Parade and condemned the threats to the LGBT population coming from right-wing organisations.
The EU commends Serbia's security forces, who protected the participants of the Parade, a statement from Fuele's office reads.

Pride Parade held without major incident
BELGRADE - The Belgrade Pride Parade was held on Sunday, joined by of a large number of politicians and ambassadors and with heavy police presence, and there was no major incident.
The police were involved only in minor clashes along the edges of the city centre.

Serbia Says Gay Pride March May go Ahead
Serbia's Office for the Coordination of Security Services on Friday said the Belgrade Gay Pride march, scheduled for September 28, may proceed as planned.
However, Nebojsa Stefanovic, the Interior Minister, stated that the match could still be called off if the security situation changes in the meantime.

No power cuts or increase in power prices during winter
BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday power prices would not go up in the next 6 months, and that there would be no power cuts this winter.
There will be enough natural gas, he pointed out, calling on everyone inthe country to save power and pay their gas and electricity bills on time.
